Jimmy Bynum moved to Nashville in 2003 as Vice President of Claims with Caterpillar Insurance, the captive insurance and extended protection division of Caterpillar. He held various global leadership roles, including serving as Managing Director of Asia Pacific in Singapore beginning in 2006. After returning to the U.S., Jimmy channeled his entrepreneurial spirit into launching Garde Solutions, his primary business venture.

Founded in 2014, Garde Solutions partners with manufacturers and distributors in the industrial equipment sector to deliver customized and forward-thinking risk management solutions. The firm specializes in optimizing extended protection plans, loss damage waivers, and enterprise risk strategies, and in establishing captive insurance companies to address unique client needs. Garde’s approach extends well beyond traditional warranty programs—offering equipment protection plans, insurance-backed service contracts, and robust enterprise-level solutions that mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.

Outside the business world, Jimmy is deeply passionate about music and storytelling. His journey into the music industry began in 2015 after hearing Doug Seegers' story on NPR. Moved by Doug’s raw talent and recovery journey, and as someone who has walked his own path in recovery, Jimmy felt a personal connection. The two met in 2018, and what started as a desire to help Doug find professional guidance grew into a hands-on management role. Jimmy helped guide Doug through pivotal early phases of his career renewal.

From the outset, Jimmy shared with Doug that his goal was to help him find a long-term, professional manager who would be the right fit. That vision came to life when Patrik Frisk of Ninetone Records, a Swedish label and management firm, stepped into that role. Under Patrik’s leadership, Doug has released exceptional new music and reignited his touring career—an outcome Jimmy is proud to have helped make possible.

In addition to artist management, Jimmy has collaborated with Jelawai Productions to develop a scripted television series chronicling Doug Seegers’ compelling life story. The series is currently in development and is poised to introduce Doug’s journey to an even broader audience.

Jimmy’s passion for music is deeply rooted in his love of connecting people—a gift he refers to as his “superpower.” Whether it’s introducing artists to the right collaborators, building bridges across industries, or helping songwriters bring their stories to light, Jimmy’s greatest fulfillment comes from using his network to uplift talent and amplify authentic voices.

Currently, Jimmy is engaged in a range of exciting creative collaborations, including projects with Karin Risberg and Benny Harrison. He believes music has the power to heal, inspire, and transform—and he’s driven to help those with a message find the platform they deserve.

The founding of One Heart Management was inspired by a conversation with Doug about the power of lyrics and lived experience. For Jimmy, it’s the human story behind the song that resonates most. Music changes lives, and helping artists share their truth is one of the ways Jimmy shares his own.

Jimmy and his wife of over 30 years, Hillary, live in Nashville, Tennessee. They have two adult sons, Clarke and Thomas, and are proud grandparents.
